Welcome to the Misano GT3 track guide for Assetto Corsa Competizione. Below, you'll find detailed instructions based on a lap guided by Jon Earle, focusing on braking points, apexes, and maximizing your lap time.
Start/Finish Straight & Turn 1 (Variante del Parco)
Approach: As you exit the final corner, push the track limits to maximize your speed down the straight.
Braking: Brake hard at the 50-meter board.
Turn-in: Take the inside curb tightly, and hold the line.
Exit: Take as much inside curb as possible, getting hard on the throttle as you exit.
Turn 2-3 (Variante del Parco to Curva Rio)
Turn 2: As you exit Turn 1, stay on the throttle, using the inside curb to open up the track for the next section.
Turn 3: A hard braking zone here leads into one of the most technical sections of the track. Short-shift up to second gear to maintain stability and get the power down early.
Turn 4-6 (Curva Rio to Quercia)
Braking: Approach this section with precision, braking at the 100-meter board.
Turn-in: Trail brake into the apex, being cautious of oversteer.
Turn 5 (Quercia): This is the trickiest braking zone on the track. Brake just after the apex of the preceding right-hander, in a straight line.
Exit: Short-shift to second gear and get on the power early, leading onto a long, fast section.
Turn 7-8 (Curvone to Tramonto)
Turn 7: Ideally flat out with a good setup. A slight lift might be needed to avoid exceeding track limits.
Turn 8: Take as much inside curb as possible, and let the car run wide to maximize exit speed.
Turn 9-10 (Tramonto to Curva del Carro)
Braking: Hard braking is needed as you approach Turn 9. Drop down two gears before braking down to first for the hairpin.
Turn-in: Hit the apex and upshift to second on exit.
Exit: The next corner should be flat out, but be cautious of track limits.
Turn 11-14 (Carro to Misano)
Turn 11: Brake at the white line before entering. Hold third gear, and keep the apex tight.
Turn 12: Short-shift to second, getting on the throttle early to set up the long straight.
Turn 13-14: Run it out wide on exit, and stay flat out, taking as much curb as possible.
Final Corner (Curva Misano)
Braking: Downshift to third, holding a tight line through the apex.
Turn-in: Get on the throttle early, aiming for a smooth exit to maximize speed onto the main straight.
Summary
Misano is a technical and challenging track where precision in braking and throttle control is critical. Focus on hitting the correct braking points, maintaining tight apexes, and optimizing your exits to improve lap times.
Feel free to practice and refine your approach to each section, and enjoy the thrill of racing at Misano!
