How to Use Tournament Rounds and Maximize Engagement in Sim Racing

Learn how to set up tournament rounds for sim racing events on Simracing.GP. Improve driver engagement, manage race schedules, and encourage competitive racing

This tutorial will guide you through setting up rounds in sim racing tournaments (championships and series) using Simracing.GP. We'll explore the benefits for organizers and players, and provide a step-by-step walkthrough on implementation.

Benefits of the Rounds for Championship and Series Organizers

  • Enhanced Engagement:
    • By organizing championships or series into multiple rounds, you can keep the excitement alive throughout the competition. Drivers could be incentivized to perform better in later rounds by offering higher points, potentially altering the leaderboard until the final races.
  • Flexible Scheduling:
    • The rounds feature allows drivers to select races that best fit their schedules across multiple rounds, maintaining their chances to score well. This flexibility facilitates greater participation and reduces dropouts from scheduling conflicts.
  • Variety in Races:
    • With rounds permitting multiple race participations, drivers have the opportunity to enhance their skills and strategize to improve their positions. They can partake in more races without the fear of losing points, while attempting to climb the leaderboard.
  • Increased Competitiveness:
    • The addition of field strength and grid size multipliers can significantly impact driver decisions. Organizers can set up these multipliers to reward drivers who participate in more competitive and larger races. This feature encourages drivers to seek out and compete in tougher races, adding an extra layer of challenge and excitement to the tournament.
